Dr. Balian is a native Virginian growing up in the Fairfax area. He attended the College of William and Mary from 1973-1977 where he concentrated in Chemistry. He then attended Old Dominion University where he earned a B.S. in Physics. After working for the Department of Defense for three years, he was accepted to dental school. He received his DDS from Howard University in 1988. After practicing in Warrenton Virginia for 5 years, he established his practice in Fredericksburg, where he has been since 1993. Dr. Balian resides in Fredericksburg with his wife Karen. He has two sons Matthew and Christopher.
